The Strength & Injury Prevention Program prepared for the Silverman Half and Full Distance races has been designed by Dave Scott. The 3-week blocks contain an infinite variety of unique exercises. The exercises provide a progressive overload and are focused on the extreme challenges of the Silverman course. All exercises come with a written description and video of the exercise.

The foundation of these programs follow these guidelines:

  • progressive workload throughout the 12 weeks
  • exercises emphasize; balance, stability and strength
  • workload is taken to muscular fatigue which elevates Growth Hormone
  • The rest interval is short between the exercises and sets to optimize your strength development
  • Each 3 week block contains 8-12 exercises depending upon your event selection
  • Additional tips are added to increase the intensity if your desireEquipment is simple!
  • stretch cords (5-6 feet) with handles
  • elevated block (a thick 3″ phone book works fine)
  • light dumb bells set from 8 – 20 lbs.
  • mat or soft towel
  • a willingness to work hard for 22 – 35 minutes – 3X/week. 2X/week will increase your strength, 3X is better!

You can purchase these programs any time during the 12 weeks leading up to the race.
