Corpus Christi, TX – January 20, 2012 – After introducing a national, year-long series in Palm Springs, CA and kicking off 2012 in Naples, FL, HITS Triathlon Series will bring two days of swimming, biking and running across five distances to Southeast Texas with an event in Corpus Christi February 18-19. As an added bonus to HITS triathletes, six-time Ironman World Champion Dave Scott will be present to deliver a guest address at Friday evening’s Athlete Welcome Dinner and will remain on-site for the duration of the event. Galena, IL Event Postponed Due to Marina Renovations

Fort Collins, Colo. – October 12, 2011 – HITS, Inc. announced today that the HITS Triathlon Series, the first national race series to feature five distances at each venue with events taking place at unique destinations all year long, has added Fort Collins, CO to its list of 2012 event locations. Scheduled to take place July 28-29, HITS Triathlon Fort Collins will replace the previously scheduled Galena, IL race.

Located in northern Colorado and nestled at the base of the Rocky Mountains, Fort Collins provides the perfect backdrop for the HITS Triathlon Series. HITS, Inc. will be the first organization to host a full distance triathlon in Fort Collins, a popular race venue for triathletes throughout the region.

Six-Time Ironman World Champion Dave Scott named official race ambassador

For nearly 20 years, six-time Ironman World Champion Dave Scott has called Colorado his home. In addition to being a USA Triathlon Hall of Fame inductee, he trains many of today’s most talented triathletes including this year’s Ironman World Champion Chrissie Wellington. The third annual USA Triathlon Hall of Fame induction banquet to honor the inductees will be held January 15, 2011 in Colorado Springs.

“USA Triathlon is thrilled to welcome this well-deserving and diverse class into our hall of fame. Susan Bradley-Cox, Dave McGillivray and Dave Scott are outstanding representatives of the multisport lifestyle, and we are incredibly grateful for their contributions to our sport,” said Chuck Graziano, chair of the USA Triathlon Hall of Fame Committee. “The hall of fame banquet has become a must-attend event on the multisport calendar, and we look forward to another full house this year.”

The USA Triathlon Hall of Fame was founded in 2008, and this year’s class will bring the total number of inductees to 13.
